This important part of Teddy Bear history, celebrates 100 years of the first jointed Teddy Bear. It is Bar 55PB a 1902 Replica (Bar for Bear, 55 for his height, 55cm, P for plush and B for beweglich, which means movable), originally designed by Richard Steiff and recreated, by the present artisans at Steiff.
Bar 55PB is 55cm tall and fully jointed. He has been sewn from a decadently dense, rust brown mohair, with matching hued, wool felt paws. Like his predecessor, he has been stuffed with excelsior and bears, expressive and glossy, black boot button eyes, with a moulded, sealing wax nose. A glorious reminded of the Teddy Bears heritage!
This spectacular piece is a Worldwide Limited Edition from 2002 and is one of just 7,000 Bears. He will come to you boxed, with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
The box has signs of storage wear, also comes with outer box. A beautiful bear with chest tag and certificate
